I’m Tanyoung Kim, a Ph.D. Student in Digital Media Program at School of Literature, Communication, and Culture, at Georgia Institute of Technology.
My research interest is design of persuasive digital media for citizen engagment. For this, I explore theories on visual culture, rhetoric and aesthetics. As particular practices, I research on sustainable design through information visualization and digital games with local contents. My advisor is Prof. Carl DiSalvo. I am also studying with Prof. John Stasko and Prof. Ian Bogost.
I have background in industrial design; BS and MS from KAIST. Then I worked as a user researcher and an interaction designer at NHN Corporation where I performed various user research, interaction deisgn, information architect for web, application and online games.
